Our 6th Annual Full Steam Ahead 5K will be happening on Saturday, June 3rd at Van Cortlandt Park! We love hosting this event as it is a great way to support DIPG research and families while having fun! There is only a month and a half left to register for this event! We encourage people of all ages to come together and participate. If you cannot attend the event, you can register as a solo walker, or as a team both in person or as a virtual participant! 100% of the donations raised will go towards research and providing financial support to impacted families. We are so thrilled to announce that DIPG Warrior Maria Kuenster’s MRI shows the tumor is stable. Absolutely no change from January. The doctor said it’s more encouraging that it’s staying stable and that Maria’s tumor cancer cells are likely dead/dying/inactive so that’s the reason there’s no change. The Dr. also said if the cancer cells were alive and active, they would be more likely to shrink, but also more likely to grow back. So stable is more positive and encouraging than shrinkage right now. The plan is to continue on the IDH inhibitor because it appears to be killing any new cancer cells that would be/are growing. Overall a good and encouraging report. We are so happy to hear this news Maria and we love you 10!
