The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization seeking to rid the world of DIPG by funding research, spreading awareness, and supporting families. In a short period of time, we were able to bring Emiliano and his family to NYC and get him treated on Dr. Souweidane’s trial. Andrea and Josue, Emiliano’s parents, have both quit their jobs in order to care for Emiliano full-time and are in need of an immense amount of financial support for their medical expenses. Emiliano is a 2-year-old boy from Mexico whose life changed forever in May 2020. He received the devastating diagnosis of DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), an inoperable tumor found on the brainstem that has no cure. It’s predicted that Emi has less than a year to live. In his time of darkness, Emi’s parents, Andrea and Josue, exhausted all their resources to give their son a chance to fight for his life.
With the help of the Cristian Rivera Foundation, Emiliano was treated on their clinical trial with Dr. Mark Souweidane at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Emi has been doing well since then and is staying in NYC with his parents as his progress is being monitored. However, this chance at life is incredibly costly and his parents are doing all they can to face unimaginable medical and living expenses.
