Tick tock, tick tock, did you hear that? It’s the countdown for 2023. Time flies, and it has been a fruitful year. As we head into the holiday season, we want to recap some monumental events that have happened here at the Cristian Rivera Foundation over the past month!

Last month, we held our 13th Annual Celebrity Gala with 500 people in attendance, including many notable guests such as CRF Board Member and SNL cast mate Kenan Thompson, actor and entrepreneur Malik Yoba, and boxing champion Edgar Berlanga. Also in attendance was academy award nominee Chazz Palminteri, CRF Board of Director and NBC Today in New York anchor, Darelene Rodriguez, and television host AJ Calloway. From the generous funds raised from the gala, and throughout the year this year we have donated about $500,000 (1/2 Million Dollars) to DIPG research, clinical trials, and family support! We are all so thankful for everyone who attended or supported the gala and made this unforgettable event happen.

This past Giving Tuesday our Board of Director Darlene Rodriguez gifted Dr. Mark M. Souweidane, our medical partner, with a check of over a 3rd of a million dollars ($350,000) to fund DIPG research. This year CRF has been able to donate more than we ever have to our medical partners conducting DIPG research. While continuing to fight DIPG, we are incredibly grateful for all the unwavering support that we have received and we are confident that one day we will accomplish our goal of finding a cure for this vicious cancer.
CRF Chairman of the Board Melinda Colon Cox, Executive Board Member Rena Kliot, Board Member Vanessa Rodriguez, and Committee Friend Maggie Meehan visited our medical partner Dr. Oren Becher to bring him a check.
CRF board members presented a check to DIPG Warrior Jesselyn Silva and her family to support her trip to Seattle where she will be entering a CAR T-cell trial. We wish Jesselyn all the best!
CRF Senior Board Members Carlos Colon and Steve Cox, joined by Committee Friend Michael Narvaez gave a check to DIPG warrior Litzy Molina and her family for support. We are so happy to see Litzy standing on her own now!
2022 was our biggest year to date, and we are gearing up for an even bigger 2023! So, thank you again to our CRF Family. We love you all.
