Did you know there is a pediatric cancer that has no treatment plan aside from palliative radiation & clinical trials? Out of nowhere, your perfectly healthy child is diagnosed with DIPG & told they have less than a year to live. You are given a choice to do nothing and go make memories, do palliative radiation, and/or join clinical trials in hopes of extending their life. DIPG has historically been a severely underfunded and understudied cancer, which means there are no FDA-approved treatments, aside from one oral medication approved this year that has prolonged life in some children. The only approved treatment is palliative radiation that extends life by months and gives you a “honeymoon period” where symptoms get better, and children feel good. It never lasts. Isabella was diagnosed on August 13th, 2025.

There is more DIPG research being done than ever before. There are clinical trials that are prolonging the lives of children, but these trials take years to complete, move to the next phase, and receive FDA approval. There are children alive years beyond their projected survival because of these trials. But research moves slowly, and treatments need to be combined for a real cure. Right now, the system we have in place has kids on waiting lists for access to these trials. There are not enough spots. Kids with DIPG don’t have time on their side. DIPG is aggressive and relentless. And funding for trials is lacking. Our goal is to accelerate research by raising funds in the hope that these trials can move faster & a cure can be found sooner. Our hope is that one day, when a child is diagnosed with DIPG, they are told there is a plan & a chance to beat this disease (instead of sad looks of helplessness). Please help save Izzy & all of the kids.
