From Briana’s Parents:
A life filled with music, laughter, and love for others.
Briana loved to dance, sing, and play music. She was clever, funny, and full of personality. To us, she was the most giving person we knew. She wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. That is the girl we love, and the part of her we want the world to know.
Diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma (DMG) on July 29, 2023, at eight, Briana underwent brain surgery to debulk the tumor, photon and proton radiation to her brain and spine, and treatment with the experimental drug ONC201. Experimental therapies were planned at Seattle Children’s Hospital and MD Anderson, but the cancer had grown too large for her to receive them.
Briana became an angel on June 29, 2024, just weeks after her ninth birthday. We miss her deeply.
The Heart of Briana’s House.
Briana’s House grows from the way she cared for others. We are working toward a non-medical respite home where families facing childhood cancer can rest, reconnect, and simply be together outside the hospital. We want families to feel the care Briana always wanted everyone to have.
Inspired by Briana and Cole Alexander Slaiding, The Strong and Brave Foundation Inc. works to raise childhood cancer awareness, fund research, and support families. Every step toward Briana’s House is a way of carrying her generosity forward.
